Refund policy
WOLDECOR Returns & Refunds
Policy updated: 2 October 2026. This policy applies to consumer purchases from woldecor.co.uk, operated by WORLD OF LONDON LTD, company number 10983065. Contact us at info@worldoflondonltd.co.uk or +44 7443 388440.
- Changed your mind? Tell us within 30 days after delivery, then send your return within a further 14 days.
- No fixed restocking or cancellation fee. Any legally permitted deduction for reduced value must reflect an actual, evidenced loss.
- Faulty, damaged on arrival or wrong item? Contact us for a remedy and return arrangements at our cost. The change-of-mind deadline does not limit these rights.
1. Changing your mind: 30 days to notify us
For eligible online orders, WOLDECOR gives you 30 days to request a change-of-mind return without giving a reason. The period starts the day after you, or a person you nominate other than the carrier, receive the goods. Where goods from one order arrive separately, it starts the day after the last item or part is delivered.
This is our extended returns offer. Your statutory right to cancel runs from placing the order until 14 days after delivery; our offer extends the notification period to 30 days under the return conditions below. It does not replace or reduce your legal rights.
Send a clear cancellation statement before that period ends. Email is the simplest option; you may also telephone us or write to the address below. Include your name, order number if available and the items you wish to return. You may use the optional cancellation form below, but it is not compulsory. Cancellation does not depend on our prior approval, a return authorisation number or the time it takes us to reply.
2. A further 14 days to send the goods back
After telling us that you wish to return your items, send the goods back without undue delay and no later than 14 days after that notification, unless we have agreed to collect them. This applies to both statutory cancellations and our extended 30-day offer. The notification and return-dispatch periods are separate. Keep proof of dispatch. If the final day falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, we extend the deadline to the next working day.
Please contact us to coordinate a suitable return route, particularly for long or bulky parcels. Pack the items securely, include their accessories and use the original packaging where available. Suitable alternative protective packaging is acceptable; opening the packaging to inspect an item does not by itself remove your cancellation rights.
3. Return postage and collection costs
Change-of-mind returns: you pay the direct return cost where this responsibility and any required non-postal return cost information were given to you before purchase. If we did not provide the legally required information, we will bear that cost. We do not add an administration or restocking charge.
For parcels that can normally be returned by post, you may use a suitable carrier of your choice and pay that carrier directly. Check that the service accepts the parcel's dimensions and weight. If you ask us to arrange a label or collection, we will confirm its cost in writing before booking; where legally payable, an agreed return charge may be deducted from the refund with your agreement.
Returns arranged by WOLDECOR from UK mainland addresses: the charge below is per box, based on its longest external dimension, and is the total customer charge including any applicable VAT. DX or Parcelforce will be used as appropriate for the parcel. We will confirm the service, number of boxes and total before booking.
- Less than 60 cm: £4.50 per box.
- 60 cm to less than 150 cm: £9.00 per box.
- 150 cm or longer, including 2-metre boxes: £16.00 per box.
For example, two 2-metre boxes cost £32 in total. Samples and ceiling roses are charged according to the size of their packed box, rather than their product name. For small parcels, you may instead arrange and pay for a suitable return service yourself.
For bulky returns from outside UK mainland, a location-specific return cost must be supplied in writing before purchase; the above tariff does not apply. If the required return-cost information was not supplied before your order, we will bear the cost of a statutory cancellation return. We do not add a new or previously undisclosed charge retrospectively to an existing order.
Faulty, damaged on arrival, incorrect or misdescribed goods: we cover the reasonable return costs. Contact us so that we can arrange a suitable label or collection; no change-of-mind return charge applies.
4. Inspection, use and any loss in value
You may inspect an item as you reasonably would in a shop to understand its nature, characteristics and function. There is no fixed percentage deduction.
Where the law permits and the required cancellation information was supplied, we may deduct only the actual reduction in value caused by handling beyond that necessary inspection. For example, cutting, painting, gluing, installing or otherwise damaging goods after delivery may reduce their value where this goes beyond necessary inspection. Any deduction is limited to the actual, evidenced reduction in value of the affected goods; there is no automatic percentage or standard damage charge. We assess each return individually, record its condition with photographs or other appropriate evidence, and explain the reason, evidence and calculation of any proposed deduction to you in writing. We do not deduct simply because a box was opened, or for a defect or damage already present on delivery. This paragraph does not restrict remedies for faulty or incorrectly supplied goods.
Damage caused by inadequate return packaging: Please take reasonable care to pack returned goods securely, protecting exposed ends and edges and preventing movement within the box. If evidence shows that new damage was directly caused by insufficient or unsuitable return packaging that you provided, we may make a deduction only where legally permitted, limited to the actual, evidenced reduction in value attributable to that damage. We will explain the packaging issue, supporting evidence and calculation to you in writing. Damage in transit is not automatically your responsibility; we will consider its cause and the return arrangements. This does not transfer liability for damage caused by us or a carrier for whom we are responsible, or restrict your rights for faults or damage present on delivery.
5. Refund amount, timing and payment method
For statutory cancellations and our extended 30-day offer, we refund the price paid for the returned goods, subject only to lawful deductions described above. When the whole order is returned, we also refund the cost of our least expensive standard outbound delivery option. Any additional amount paid for a faster or premium delivery service is not refundable for a change-of-mind return.
We refund without undue delay. If you send the goods back, we may wait until we receive them or evidence that you have sent them, whichever happens first; the refund will be made no later than 14 days after that point. If we have offered to collect the goods, we will refund no later than 14 days after being informed of your cancellation. A cancellation before dispatch is refunded within 14 days of notification.
Refunds use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, with no refund-processing fee. We do not require you to accept store credit instead of a refund to which you are entitled.
6. Faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed goods
Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you normally have a 30-day short-term right to reject goods that did not conform when supplied and obtain a full refund. For ordinary delivered goods, this period starts the day after delivery; different timing can apply where agreed installation is involved. Requesting or agreeing to a repair or replacement during that period can pause the deadline.
After this period, rights to repair or replacement, and in appropriate circumstances a price reduction or final rejection, can still apply. These rights do not expire simply because 14 or 30 days have passed. Where a refund is due under the Act, we will pay it without undue delay and within 14 days of agreeing that you are entitled to it.
Tell us about the problem as soon as reasonably possible. Photos of the item and packaging help us investigate, but a photo or an arbitrary 24/48-hour reporting deadline is not a condition of your statutory rights. Please retain the goods while we arrange the appropriate remedy. You do not have to pursue our delivery carrier yourself.
7. Samples, standard products and genuinely bespoke goods
A standard sample, standard length or normal pack-size choice is not automatically excluded from cancellation. Samples may be inspected; use beyond necessary inspection is assessed under section 4. Sale or discounted items have the same statutory rights.
The change-of-mind cancellation right may not apply to goods genuinely made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised, where the legal exception applies. Any such exception must be made clear before purchase. It does not remove your rights if those goods are faulty or do not match the agreed specification.
8. Earlier orders and statutory rights
Our current change-of-mind notification period is 30 days. If your order was placed under a previous policy or a more favourable promise, we will honour any more favourable commitment given at the time. Later changes do not retrospectively reduce your rights or introduce new return charges for an existing order. Please contact us if an earlier document names a different business or you are unsure which terms apply to your WOLDECOR order.
This policy does not exclude or limit your statutory rights. If mandatory consumer law applicable to your purchase gives you greater protection, that protection continues to apply.
